Death To Apple!....Or Maybe not...?

http://www.torontosun.com/2013/01/14/apple-cuts-orders-for-iphone-5-parts-on-weak-demand-nikkei
After 5 generations of iPhone's people have grown tired of buying a new Apple phone in order to keep up with the so called "trends".  Due to the weak demand of iPhone5's Apple has cut orders for LCD screens and other parts for the iPhone5.  The demand has affected Asian businesses such as Sharp Co Ltd that produces the LCD screens for Apple (See how evil apple is! When they fail they drag other companies at the other end of the world down with them). Apple's dominance is decreasing while companies such as Samsung Electronics and other unknown businesses such as  Huawei Technologies Co Ltd and ZTE Corp is taking overFor those that did not know, Apple has been getting parts from none other than Samsung, the chips within iPhones come from factories of Samsung in Korea(which we all know is a great country). The article goes on and talks about how Samsung is overthrowing Apple, I do not wish to continue to say how much Apple is unimpressive so that concludes the summary of the article.

Business is seen here, technological advances overthrow old and run down technology that may have existed for quite some time. With the increase of newer and newer technologies it is evident that the supply and demand for old inventions such as Apple decrease. Who knows Apple may step up their game and create a better quality phone or move on to something better (For those who are unfamiliar with Apple's history, they created PC's back in the day... They still do but back then there were no competitors until Microsoft took over.) Microsoft took them down but they rose up and created iPod's that revolutionized the way we hear things and made Apple become one of the most powerful company in the world. They may do something like this again as we discussed, there are reccessions that occur after they reach their peak, they also tend to rise back up. Do you think apple can overcome its challenges and rise back up or should they try and make something new and give up phones?

  1. Well I think it doesn't hurt to try. Apple is a great company but I feel like after they hit their peak the quality of their products have been getting worse. Take a Macbook Pro you bought in say 2005-2006 and compare it to the newer 2012-2013 Macbook Pros.. Despite the fact that they look the same and claim to be a "newer more improved" version the only difference between the two is the quality, it just gets crappier by the year. Just like how RIM hit their all time low because they weren't keeping up with the latest trends is what I think may eventually happen to Apple. Don't get me wrong, that doesn't mean I think they won't be able to rise up, with some time to rethink their marketing strategics and ideas for products I think in a few years down the road Apple will definitely be back at the top.

  2. INNOVATION, INNOVATION, INNOVATION..I think that Apple needs to invest more money on research and development and come up with some better innovative ideas before they start loosing their power and lose a lot of their potential customers. Personally, I believe that it was the creative, innovative and envisionary mind of Steve Jobs which strongly led Apple to its present glory and success. After the death of Steve Jobs, the quality of apple has been declining.

Also, Adiel did a pretty good job on describing how powerful of a company Apple really is. Apple is such a international business that even small changes within the organizations can affect nations as a whole since they pump soo many money into the economies of several countries such as China, Japan, Korea, etc.

  3. Who knew that releasing one new phone a year with very simple changes (like a larger screen, slightly faster processor and slightly better camera) would eventually piss off the Apple fans? I think people will think twice before buying another iPhone when they can get so much more with ANY of the competition.

It was nice while it lasted.

  4. These things are always cyclical...trends change, what's "fashionable" or "in" often also plays a huge factor into the equation.

  5. I think that Apple can overcome its obstacles by making new products. I think that customers are getting angry because Apple keeps making similar products every year. I think they should have more variety.

  6. I'd like to point out that i saw this coming :) Like I said before, Apple is horrible at coming up with new ideas while the other companies are constantly coming up with something EXTREMELY new with each new model, not something dumb like Apple.

  7. Apple just needs to have a big 2013 in order to answer to all the criticism they have been faced with. New products that are expecting to be released this year, such a Apple TV and ipad Mini with a retina display could determine the future of the company in the long-term.
